1. Preliminary preparation

  1. Site survey and planning : First, conduct a detailed survey of the tunnel kiln site to understand its structural  characteristics, dimensions and surrounding environmental conditions.      Based on the survey results, formulate a detailed insulation construction plan and material requirements list.

  2. Material procurement and preparation :      According to the construction plan, purchase appropriate amounts of insulation materials, such as ceramic fiber blankets , aluminum silicate fiber wool, lightweight refractory bricks, insulation coatings, etc. At the same time, prepare necessary construction tools, fixings (such as anchors, metal mesh) and adhesives.

  3. Safety measures : Ensure that safety measures are in place at the construction site, including wearing personal protective equipment, setting up safety warning signs, ensuring good ventilation in the construction area, and preparing emergency response plans.

2. Insulation layer construction

  1. Basic treatment : Clean the inner wall of the tunnel kiln to remove oil, rust and loose refractory materials to ensure that the insulation layer can fit tightly.

  2. Insulation material installation :

    • Ceramic fiber blanket /aluminum silicate fiber cotton : Use a special adhesive to stick it on the inner wall of the tunnel kiln, ensuring that it is firmly pasted without gaps. Pay attention to using special-shaped materials at corners and edges to ensure the integrity of the insulation layer.

    • Lightweight refractory bricks : For areas that require higher fire resistance, use lightweight refractory bricks for masonry and use refractory mortar for grouting to ensure that the brick joints are tight.

    • Thermal insulation coating : In some areas, such as kiln roof or places where it is difficult to stick thermal insulation materials, thermal insulation coating can be sprayed to form a continuous thermal insulation layer.

  3. Gap and interface treatment : Use special  sealing materials to fill and seal the gaps and interfaces between the insulation layers to prevent heat leakage.

  4. Multi-layer insulation structure :      According to the design requirements, it may be necessary to build a multi-layer insulation structure. Each layer of insulation material should be ensured to fit tightly and reinforced with adhesives or fasteners.

3. Special parts treatment

  1. Kiln door and kiln car track : Special  attention should be paid to the continuity of the insulation layer at the  kiln door. Special insulation materials should be used to wrap the kiln door to ensure that the kiln door can fit tightly against the kiln body  when closed. The kiln car track area should be protected with high temperature and corrosion resistant insulation materials.

  2. Exhaust vents and observation windows :      Openings such as exhaust vents and observation windows must be sealed with removable insulation devices to ensure that heat does not leak from these openings.

4. Construction Completion and Inspection

  1. Clean up the site : After the construction is completed, clean up the construction site and remove  excess insulation materials, adhesives and other debris.

  2. Quality inspection : Conduct a      comprehensive inspection of the construction quality of the insulation layer, including the pasting of insulation materials, gap treatment, overall structural stability, etc. Ensure that the insulation layer is not damaged or has no gaps and meets the design requirements.

  3. Acceptance and record keeping : Invite relevant personnel to conduct acceptance to ensure that the construction  quality of the insulation layer meets the standards. At the same time,  keep good construction records, including the type, quantity, installation  location and other information of the insulation materials, for subsequent      maintenance and repair.
